Physical Damage
We repair all kinds of physical damage ranging from Cracked lcd's to total phone rebuilds. Most of the repairs carried out in either of our shops are completed within the hour for physical damage.
Damaged Chips
Inside a computer there are many chips and components. These chips can control anything from the number1 button to the actual phone memory. These chips are very small and require precise engineering to replace them. The chips are not very expensive to repair and again where in stock can be replaced within the hour at either of our shops.
LCD's + Screens
We repair LCD's and screens on many devices ranging from mobile phone and XDA handsets all the way through to game consoles such as PSP's and Gameboys. Most LCD's are kept in stock at both our stores for all mobile phones. Our Lowestoft shop stocks a larger number of alternative LCDs.
Ribbons
On all slide and flip phones there is a connecting cable (also called a ribbon). Over a period of time this ribbon may become damaged and or worn. The wear and damage of this ribbon may lead to many things such as Partial display loss, loss of camera functionality or keypad functionality loss. In order to change these ribbons all phones need to be taken apart. The ribbon replacement is usually done within the hour.
Dead Phones
With dead phones we initially do a few simple checks such as replace the battery
and check for water damage.(see water damage below).
The steps above are free ( except parts). If these stages fail we will then
re-flow the board. This consists of heating the main PCB {printed circuit board}
and BGA's (ball grid array). If the phone is old or had a large amount of
general wear this will usually resolve the problem.
if this does not resolve the issue we can carry out more technical steps to try
and "revive" your phone.
Phone housing
we all have that problem with mobile phones. you get a call. you finish and put your shiny phone in your pocket along with your car keys and maybe them sweets you started eating on the bus on the way in. now once or twice is not a major issue but after months of general wear like this your phones appearance will deteriorate. normally this means you have a scruffy looking phone which you really like. Well we have the solution. We can provide Genuine manufacturer housing for most phone makes and models. The good thing is we can also get varying colour housings for phones which are normally only available in one colour.
Liquid Damage
Most people think that a liquid damaged phone is a write-off. this is now not
the case in most situations. At mobile solutions we put liquid damaged phones
through a process which has to date cured phones that are totally or partially
non-functioning and returning them to a full working condition. So far we have
successfully completed this process for phones that have been in the following
to list just a few :
Alcohol
Water
Washing Machine
Sea
Chip Oil.
The process involves Taking the phone apart and putting it in a special Alcohol based solution in a sonic bath which heats the contents to a certain temperature. The phone is left in over night which enables this heated solution to thoroughly clean the phones main board and components. After this is complete we give the phone a complete intense clean. We then reconstruct the phone and check if this has solved the problem.
If this step is unsuccessful we re-strip the phone and heat the PCB (printed circuit board). We do this in case any of the components joints have become "dry" (The solder is removed from the board). After this time we again rebuild the handset and allow the phone to charge. In most situations this repairs the phone to full working order. However in some instances the phone may require replacement parts which are supplied at cost.
This whole process is very time consuming and as such is our only repair which will still cost you even if the repair is not completed.
The deposit for this service is £10(GBP) and is the only amount paid if we cannot repair your handset. If we manage to return your phone in good working order we will then require an additional £15(GBP) plus any extras you we're quoted
Deletion of data
We are well aware that some people may have data such as video, imagery, or contact details stored on your handset. All our physical repairs do not require us to delete ANY data from your phone.
This also cover liquid damage repairs. If our repair will result in us deleting ANY data you will be asked your consent first.
We too have had the problem of sending our phone to Authorised repair centers and getting it back in good working order to realise... "oh wait joe blogg's number has gone and I wont see him for years now" Thats why we understand the importance of not deleting any data from the handset without making you aware first.
